Artour “Arteezy” Babaev will be missing out on appearing at Dota 2 The International for the first time in his decade-long career after Shopify Rebellion faced a crushing defeat against Nouns at the North America Closed Qualifier for TI13.

During the qualifiers, Arteezy once again came face to face with his old teammate Fly who signed with Nouns back in 2023 in the upper bracket final. Shopify Rebellion had an incredible run in the upper bracket with no losses and also managed to take Nouns down after a little struggle in a best-of-three match during the upper bracket final.

Nouns make a massive comeback

After losing out the confrontation, Nouns faced Apex Genesis in the lower bracket finals and swiftly ended the match, making a comeback to the grand finals with a dominating victory. Their streak continued in the grand final against Shopify Rebellion once again as they managed to sweep them with a 3-0 victory and secure their spot at The International 2024.

This is also not the first loss for Shopify Rebellion against nouns, in fact, most recently, the team faced an exact same loss during the NA Closed Qualifier for Riyadh Masters. Shopify Rebellion first defeated Nouns in the upper bracket final, only to be defeated after they made a comeback and missed out on competing in the Riyadh Masters 2024 at Esports World Cup.

Fans aren’t sure about what the team will do after missing their chance at two of the biggest Dota 2 esports events of 2024. Despite finishing in the top three across multiple events during his time in Team Secret and Evil Geniuses, Arteezy has also been struggling to find a win at TI.
