Nvidia Geforce Now to introduce 100 hour limit (Image - Nvidia)
GeForce Now, Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, will be shifting to a 100-hour monthly limit starting in 2025. The announcement came via an official blog post where the company revealed all the changes to its premium plans. These changes will take effect for those who join the Nvidia GeForce Now in 2025.
“At the start of next year, GeForce NOW will roll out a 100-hour monthly playtime allowance to continue providing exceptional quality and speed as well as shorter queue times for Performance and Ultimate members,” the company wrote.
This decision was taken after the company found out that a majority of the members (94%) never crossed the 100-hour mark each month. So instead of unlimited video game stream hours, the company will provide users with an ‘enhanced gaming’ experience for those 100 hours.

There is, however, a relief for the currently subscribed members as Nvidia is allowing them to have unlimited streaming throughout 2025. Do note that this privilege will be removed if they cancel the subscription. People who join before December 31 will also get unlimited hours.
What changed with the GeForce Now offerings?
The ‘enhanced gaming’ here is the increase in the quality of games. The performance tier, which was locked at 1080p gaming, will now provide users with a maximum of 1440p resolution along with RTX features. As for the Ultimate tier, players can stream at 4K resolution and 120 fps or 1080p and 240 fps.
Additionally, up to 15 hours of playtime will be rolled over to the next month, giving players 115 hours. However, this can’t be done on top of each other meaning if not utilized, the extra 115 hours will be wasted as a user can have a maximum of 115 hours each month.
As expected, players aren’t pleased with this change, and those who are subscribed are complaining that they will continue the subscription for 2025 only. With the new plans, users get an average of 3.3 hours of game time each day, which isn’t too bad, but people like to have options.
