Xbox Cloud Gaming is reportedly expanding its scope and will soon allow gamers to play all the games they own through cloud gaming. Previously, only select titles were available as part of the Cloud Gaming service. This is great news for people who are unable to play the game they have, either due to hardware limitations or other reasons.

This comes from a recent report from The Verge, who talked to sources familiar with this matter. They further reveal that this was a long-running project known as Project Lapland. The company was getting the servers ready to support streaming any game players wanted from their library.

Microsoft had planned these features since the days of Project xCloud back in 2020 with an announcement revealing game library support back in 2022 which did not happen. It was likely due to server limitations, however, with the new reports, it seems that Microsoft is finally ready to allow players to enjoy cloud gaming how it was meant to be.

New Cloud Gaming feature to be available soon

With so many delays, one would think that this time may also go similarly, but there’s a silver lining. The report further revealed that Xbox Cloud Gaming will add this new feature as soon as November 2024 for the insider program and will eventually add more people.

Xbox Cloud Gaming currently features the largest game library with thousands of games. Running these games will require significant server capacity. Then again, Microsoft is currently one of the biggest companies in the world.

The announcement also comes after Xbox announced that players will be able to purchase games directly from the Xbox App on Android in the US. Cloud Gaming can also be done using mobile devices, which pairs well with mobile gamers due to its accessibility.
