A year after its launch and radio silence, a new report claims that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is getting a DLC funded by Savvy Games Group, founded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). Many had already expected Ubisoft to close the chapter and move on to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows, set to release in March.

However, it seems there is a silver lining for Mirage fans, as reported by Les Echoes, via j0nathon on X (Twitter). The Late DLC isn’t itself a surprise as many games usually get these types of expansions and DLCs long after release. But, Ubisoft previously said that there are no plans for an Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC.

“According to several concordant sources, the French video game heavyweight has formed a partnership with Saudi Arabia. This should lead to the production of downloadable content (DLC) by Ubisoft studios for Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” the image translation said.

This partnership reportedly came to be after the CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, visited Riyadh and met executives from the Savvy Games Group. The scope and what the DLC will bring is still a mystery.

Savvy Games Group to fund Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC?

The Savvy Games Group has been one of the frequent investors across the gaming industry and owns one of the largest esports broadcasters, ESL FACEIT Group, which it acquired back in 2022. Savvy Games Group also has stakes across some of the largest gaming companies like Nintendo, Nexon, Capcom, and others.

There is currently no official announcement in this regard and things may only be announced after Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if the company decided to drop a full-fledged DLC. It is also important to note that the reception of the upcoming game may also affect the DLC.
