The 2022 Rockstar breach by a teenage hacker from Lapsus$ that gave the world the first glimpse of GTA 6 have seen some new revelation. As per a YouTuber MMI, one of their insiders from Rockstar revealed that the 18-year-old hacker named Arion Kurtaj scammed an employee from Rockstar India and got access to the data.

This was during the Covid lockdown when people were working from home. A phishing email was sent to the employee that allowed Arion to get access to Slack channels that resulted in data leak. At the time, Rockstar India was working on the Vice Beach area of the map.

The official trailer for GTA 6 came an entire year later, and even that was leaked a day earlier than scheduled. Regardless of that, the breach was when GTA fans got the first hint as to where GTA 6 might be taking place. The leaks revealed the game taking players back to the Vice City, which at the time was hard to believe.

Despite all of this conundrum, GTA 6 development is reportedly on track for a 2025 release. There were another rumours regarding a delay, possibly until 2026, however, parent company of Rockstar Games, Take Two claimed that the development is well under schedule. Fans hope that the statement is true, as they have already waited a decade for a new GTA title.
