GTA 6 has been a hot topic since the game was officially announced. Amidst all this, musician for the English band Heaven 17, Martyn Ware, alleged that Rockstar Games recently approached their publishers with an offer to put one of their songs inside GTA 6. However, upon hearing the offer, he was very disappointed.
In a post on X, Ware revealed that they were offered to put one of their songs inside GTA 6 royalty-free was $7,500. Hearing the low, offer, the musician was left in disbelief and seemingly refused the offer with some harsh words.
I was recently contacted by my publishers on behalf of Rockstar Games re the possibility of using Temptation on the new Grand Theft Auto 6

Naturally excited about the immense wealth that was about to head my way, I scrolled to the bottom of the email re the offer…
He then emphasized that GTA 5 have grossed Rockstar Games over $8 billion and while other artists may have got different offers based on their popularity, $7,500 did not sit well with him regardless of the exposure the band might get with the release of GTA 6.
“IT WAS $7500 - for a buyout of any future royalties from the game - forever… To put this in context, Grand Theft Auto 6 grossed, wait for it… $8.6 BILLION. Ah, but think of the exposure… Go fuck yourself,” Ware wrote. Although, he did confuse up GTA 5 with GTA 6.

Fans call it a foolish move
While some have stood in his support, the majority of people have called this a bad move considering GTA 6 will likely be a big deal. People pressed on the fact that the exposure he thinks is small would be a huge deal for many small bands who have yet to make it into the public eye.
People further emphasised the fact that instead of outright rejecting the offer, he should have negotiated and would have likely got a better offer. Ware further revealed that he did make a counteroffer of £75,000 which was denied. Although this came after almost a day and maybe after he used some harsh words against Rockstar Games.
