Marvel Rivals to punish console players using Mouse and Keyboard

Marvel Rivals is currently the talk of the town when it comes to competitive shooters, and as usual, the cheaters have also made an appearance. These complaints come from console players regarding the use of a mouse and keyboard and how some are trying to get an advantage over others. The dev team has now issued a response.

“The Marvel Rivals team stands unwavering in our mission to foster fair and thrilling gameplay for all. Cheating in any form is something we will battle relentlessly, and we call upon our community to rally behind our quest to maintain a positive gaming atmosphere,” the official statement said.

Playing on a controller compared to a mouse and keyboard can be a bit difficult. This is why console players usually have aim assist, which is one of the reasons why ranked have separate lobbies for PC and consoles. However, using an external device/adapter to play inside the console lobby with a mouse and keyboard violates game integrity.

Marvel Rivals cheaters to get permanent bans

Acting on these complaints and maintaining the competitive integrity of the game, the developers revealed they have made a detection tool for such cases. Along with that, the flagged players will also undergo a manual review, following which necessary actions will be taken on both PCs and consoles.

“We believe that gaining an unjust advantage through such methods significantly impacts the gaming experience for our players. Therefore, whether on PC or console, we will take measures to vanquish this nefarious behaviour,” the developers wrote.

The punishment ranges from removal from leaderboards to permanent account suspension. Hopefully, this will be enough to stop players from using external devices. There is also a replay option that players can use if they are not sure the opponent was cheating or not.
