No plans for PvE game mode as per Marvel Rivals devs

Since its release, Marvel Rivals has become one of the most popular PvP games in the market and has maintained its spot in the top 10 Steam charts. There are a lot of reasons behind this success but it all comes down to a fun gameplay loop and constant updates as per community feedback. However, some fans will be sad to hear there are no plans for a PvE mode.

Talking to IGN in an interview at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer ‘Weicong Wu’ was asked about potential PvE game mode in the future. Since the launch of the game, many players have asked about a PvE game mode thanks to the incredible quality of gameplay elements.

“For now we don't have any kind of a PvE plan, but our development team is continuously experimenting with new gameplay modes. So if we found that a new specific game mode is entertaining enough, fun enough, we would of course bring it to our audience,” Wu said.

There is still hope for PvE in Marvel Rivals

While the current plans may not be what the fans wanted, Wu did not outright deny any chance the development team may work on a PvE game mode. Even since Overwatch 2 canceled the PvE mode after creating a huge initial hype to bring in more players, and handed everyone hero mastery, fans are starved for PvE content.

For now, Marvel Rivals developers have an incredible track record of listening to the community. If there is enough demand for the PvE game mode, devs will likely do something this year itself. Many fans aren’t opposed to paying for a story campaign.

“Yeah, we believe there are some of our audience that would like the PvE mode. But also, you can see that if we come up with a hardcore PvE experience, that will be totally a different distinctive experience from what we have right now,” Wu further added.

Why do Marvel Rivals fans want PvE game mode?

Sometimes, players are tired of shooting each other in the game and simply want to shoot bots with friends. If people are having a hard time believing this, ask those who play games like Warframe, Destiny, and other looter-shooter titles. The quality of Marvel Rivals characters and the potential for a PvE game mode is huge and serves as the main reason why players want this game mode.
