Counter Strike 2 is one of the biggest esports titles globally; however, the community around the game has a lot to complain about following the release of CS2. The general topic, however, remains that Valve does not care about the game. This comes after all multiplayer games by Valve received a holiday-themed update, except CS2.

As pointed out by a Reddit user, CaraX9, every game from Valve’s video game roster has received some form of holiday update, including one of their oldest games, TF2, and one of the latest entries, which hasn’t even come out of beta, Deadlock. Of course, how can we forget Dota 2.

Sadly, all that remains is CS2, which used to get seasonal updates, and while they were not something big, acknowledging that the developers still remember that the game does a lot of things for the community. “CS2 is Valve’s only big game that didn’t receive a holiday update,” the user wrote.

Is Valve ignoring CS2?

Since the second half of 2024, people have been arguing if Valve even cares about Counter Strike 2 or not. This was due to a lack of major updates as per the gaming community. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case if we check the update history.

CS2 has seen some major updates, which included major fixes for player complaints regarding networking, gunplay, visual optimisations, and even the introduction of the Armoury update, bringing a lot of new weapon skins and the introduction of charms.

However, at the end of the day, the players are mostly frustrated with the cheating problem. Cheaters and hackers seem to be the main cause of why the game is getting a bad rep in general. As of now, it feels like Valve improving the cheating problem will automatically turn even the smallest CS2 update as a feature. The complete silence from them also doesn’t help.
