CookieRun is a very popular mobile game developed by Devsisters Corporation that boasts over 10 million downloads. Launched in 2021, the new CookieRun: India looks like an alternative counterpart for the game specifically for the Indian audience in the casual gaming side of the market.

“We are beyond excited to bring CookieRun India to life in collaboration with Devsisters and are thrilled by the incredible response it has received so far. This game perfectly blends casual fun with Indian elements, uniquely tailored for Indian players, offering them a fresh take on the beloved series,” said Minu Lee, head of publishing at Krafton India.

This is similar to Krafton’s Bullet Echo India that was also released this year. The original game was developed by ZetpoLab with Krafton bringing the localized variant in, collaborating with BGMI. It contained Indian themed characters and local language support for a wider audience.

Massive investment commitment by Krafton

Krafton previously announced the ‘Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI)’ with plans to invest over $140 million across Indian start-ups, and the company now plans to add new start-ups to invest. The program seem like a great opportunity for those who plan on entering the gaming sector and have ideas that can take off.

This will also allow India to create and ship high quality games and further improve their presence globally. Krafton India also plans to release more games in 2025, although, it remains to be seen if they will also lean towards the casual gaming side or be competitive titles.
