Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty was one of the most successful DLC release back in 2023. Joining players along with Keanu Reeves in a spy thriller expansion was Hollywood star Idris Elba. While the DLC was quite successful, in a recent interview, Elba talked about how he wouldn’t be opposed to a live action film for the game.
Responding to Screen Rant's own Joe Deckelmeier regarding this possibility, Elba seemed fully on board to bring Solomon Reed into real life with Keanu’s Johnny Silverhand. This comes ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 release where both Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves are once again together voicing two iconic characters from the franchise.
“I think if any film could do a live-action rendition, it could be [Cyberpunk 2077], and I think his character and my character together would be, ‘Whoa.’ So, let's speak that into existence,” he said, responding to Deckelmeier.
Live action adaptation of video games has been in trend for some time now, and while people have seen what some of the better adaptations like Fallout can do. There are also a lot of pitfalls like Borderlands. It’s hard to say fans to don’t want Elba and Reeves on screen together, but it also needs to be done properly.

A big turnaround for Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty
Cyberpunk 2077 had a very rough launch across all platforms, however, the console in particular was so bad that the PlayStation store delisted the game and provided refunds. It was then CDPR made a complete turnaround to restore the game piece by piece with update.
Last year, the studio released the only DLC for the game, called Phantom Liberty. There were plans for more, but the disastrous launch help back a lot of things. Needless to say, the expansion was massive, featuring another star. What’s more is that Elba wasn’t just there to stand around.
The update also brought a lot of changes and fixes, finally making the game what it was supposed to be, a launch. The devs also released a new massive patch 2.2 that was focused on customization. CDPR said they learned a lot throughout the release of Cyberpunk and plans to improve upon everything so it won’t happen again.
