While G2 Esports have made their way into the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Americas Stage 2 grand final after defeating Leviatán, 100 Thieves will be returning home after losing out the lower bracket match against KRÜ Esports in a reverse sweep.

The first game had fans believing in a lower bracket run, as the team countered KRÜ Esports very well in their map of choice. The first half saw both teams go toe to toe with 100 Thieves dominating in the second half securing the game 1.

Following was KRÜ Esports’s map, where once again the match was going along the same timeline. It was hard to tell if KRÜ would end their run or drag the game into the decider match. The team reached game point and 100 Thieves failed to chase the overtime point. Tough luck, but both teams now had one last chance to make it into the lower bracket semifinals.

The decider game began, and 100 Thieves saw another great first half which had fans believing in the lower bracket run. However, KRÜ Esports also made a comeback in the second half and steam-rolled 100 Thieves to secure lower bracket semifinals.

G2 Esports secure grand final spot

The upper bracket finals saw G2 go against Leviatán who recently gave a ticket to Sentinels for Valorant Champions 2024. G2 dominated Leviatán to secure the grand finals and sent them to face KRÜ Esports in the lower bracket finals.

Regardless of the result now, this whole ordeal came as a huge upset for 100 Thieves as they were the one who knocked out Sentinels early during the Playoffs Knockout Round. If it wasn’t for Leviatán winning one match, Sentinels would have missed the Valorant Champions once again. As a result, 100 Thieves paid the price by missing the event.
