Hogwarts Legacy 2 may add characters from books and movies

According to a recent job offering, more characters from the Harry Potter novels, film, and television series will appear in Hogwarts Legacy 2. Although Hogwarts Legacy 2 has not yet been formally announced, Warner Bros. Discovery has referred to the project, and the game's overwhelming popularity all but ensures a sequel. However, no real information has been released about Hogwarts Legacy 2.

We know that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is being developed, but that's all we know until plans have changed. Job postings from Avalanche Software, however, could offer more information on what the prospective Hogwarts Legacy 2 cast of characters will bring to the table. There is a Lead Designer World post open at Avalanche Software. 

Avalanche Software's job posting is probably for Hogwarts Legacy 2, although it doesn't specify which game the company is working on. According to the job posting, the selected candidate will be in charge of "Character Development," which includes creating "compelling characters with unique backstories, motivations, and growth arcs" and introducing "favorite characters from the existing canon and IP."

Hogwarts Legacy 2 to add more people

The most interesting part is the final section, which could reveal some information about the setting of Hogwarts Legacy 2. The late nineteenth century, long before characters like Harry Potter or even Albus Dumbledore roamed the halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is where the first Hogwarts Legacy was set. Aside from the Sorting Hat, a few ghosts, and headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black, who makes an appearance in portrait form in the Harry Potter novel, this meant that Hogwarts Legacy lacked many recurring characters from the current canon.

According to the job posting from Avalanche Software, it appears that Hogwarts Legacy 2 may take place when more people are recognizable. The decades between the previous game and the beginning of Harry Potter might also be the setting for Hogwarts Legacy 2, or given that it is still extensively unexplored, it might even take place after the events of the book series. In the end, unless Avalanche Software chooses to disclose the setting of Hogwarts Legacy 2, fans are limited to speculating. Fans of the property may anticipate the release of Hogwarts Legacy for the Nintendo Switch 2 and the Harry Potter HBO series in the interim.
