Just when everyone thought Halo Infinite was left relying on its community, the Halo team announced the addition of Search & Destroy (S&D) Extraction. Those who have been playing competitive games are well aware of the game mode and are quite surprised to see Halo add a tactical game mode. Halo is also celebrating Women’s History Month with free cosmetics.
S&D Extraction works like any other tactical game mode with players having a single life each round. One team will be the defenders while the other attacks, similar to CS2 or Valorant. Matches will be best of 11 and feature an economy system allowing players to get equipment before each round. The game mode will be added later this year but features a $20,000 S&D Extraction Forgehub Map Contest which is currently active.
Halo S&D Extraction sparking interest among community
Halo is known for its fast-paced gameplay where players respawn and get back to what they were doing. The addition of a new game mode where people have to be cautious is quite an interesting take. As one can expect, many are wondering how things will be with the new S&D Extraction game mode.
Those who still love Halo Infinite are quite excited to see how the game mode will turn out to be while a few others remain skeptical of the announcement. Esports Orgs and pros like Optic Formal seem to be quite excited about the addition. Others also believed Halo needed something new and appreciated the small team trying to keep the game alive.

Halo Infinite celebrates Women’s History Month
Apart from the new game mode, Halo Infinite is also giving away a free cosmetic bundle to celebrate Women’s History Month. In order to claim, players simply need to log into the game and get their custom armor coating, visor, and emblem. Halo MCC also adds the emblem.
While Halo Infinite may not be in the best condition, Microsoft last year announced their shift to Unreal Engine 5. There a currently more games in development including some remakes which will hopefully revive the community.
