The GTA 5 Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode, also known as the Zombies mode, is a huge success among fans. Introduced for GTA Online, this time-limited mode is the first time players are getting a true zombie experience. As per the latest stats, the number of unique players for the new game mode has reached almost 1.4 million.

Added as an update for Bottom Dollar Bounties, a Halloween celebration for GTA 5, players are spawned during this survival job and have to survive waves of zombies. To keep things interesting, there are also some special zombies with unique and more damaging abilities. Adding various cosmetic and in-game currency rewards in the mix, the players are grinding the new Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode.

First reported by Tez2 on X, the unique plays for the new GTA Online mode reached over 400,000 within 24 hours of launch and reached almost 900,000 unique plays in 48 hours. This was enough for everyone to see how long fans have been waiting for this mode. The same website now reports 1.39 million unique plays.

Rockstar adds new milestones and rewards

An update from Rockstar Games also recently revealed that by October 13, players have slain over 400 million zombies and the next update will likely cross the 600 million mark. Watching the overwhelming number of players, Rockstar also upped the goal to 800 million and if players are able to reach that, everyone will get the Purple Glow and Green Glow Skeleton Onesies.

The Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode also came as a nice fan service from Rockstar after players had been begging for a zombie-type game mode for a long time. Added to the fact that this might very well be the last Halloween, players will witness ahead of the release of GTA 6, the developers had to make it special.
