The much-awaited zombie survival mode for GTA 5 is here, taking fans back to nostalgic Ludendorff Cemetery in a fun new twist. The update was released on October 10 and comes as a part of the Bottom Dollar Bounties update for GTA Online and is available to new and old players alike. There is also a community challenge to slay 80 million zombies.

“For the first time in GTA Online, return to North Yankton and confront a nightmarish array of foes — including ambling corpses, colossal juggernauts, and possessed animals — and banish these living dead back to the darkness in the new Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode,” the official reveal said.

How to play Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode?

To play the new GTA Zombies mode, simply go into GTA Online and look for ‘Jobs’. The model is available in ‘Rockstar Created’ tab, where all the official game modes from the developer are located. The Ludendorff Cemetery Survival is listed under Survivals.

Zombies and rewards in the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival

Added as a new job to celebrate Halloween, the gameplay objective here is simply to survive. Players need to fend off hordes of zombies, either solo or with friends. To add more to the fun, radar is turned off and there are a lot of different types of zombies, including animal zombies like boars and dogs.

Here is a complete list of zombie types

  • Animal Zombies - Animals like boars, and deer will appear across different rounds. These can inflict bleed damage to players if they manage to get a hit.
  • Armoured Zombies - As the name suggests, these are zombies with armour. They are more resilient than regular zombies, requiring more bullets to kill.
  • Special Zombies - These are the kind of like the boss zombies with different powers and can be identified easily. First is a fire zombie that can burn the player if it gets too close like Molotov. The second is an explosive zombie that can do an AoE damage on death. The third is a mage zombie that can create poisonous clouds.

Everyone starts at the Ludendorff Cemetery but isn’t restricted to a single location and can roam around the map. The event will run for a whole week till October 16 and provide double XP and cash. Players who manage to survive three waves without dying can secure a Gray Creepy Cat Mask and $100,000.

Surviving 10 rounds will give players a Lundendorff Survivor outfit and as a community challenge, players killing 80 million zombies will provide an Orange Glow Skeleton Onesie and the Red Hooded Skull Mask. There is no doubt that people will complete the challenge well ahead of the last day.

Apart from that, there is also a new task to take pictures of paranormal activities going on around downtown Los Santos and the Southern San Andreas skyline. Collecting 10 apparitions will reward players with the Ghosts Exposed Outfit and Ghosts Exposed Livery. As for the pictures of UFOs in the sky, players will get RP and in-game cash rewards.
