Grand Theft Hamlet, an upcoming Grand Theft Auto movie filmed completely inside GTA Online, recently made headlines. Making its debut at the SXSW where it won the Jury Award for best documentary feature, the movie has now been selected for the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) Raindance Maverick Award among 13 other movies.

Telling people a story about two unemployed actors, Sam and Mark, recreating Shakespeare’s Hamlet inside the game with a modern touch showcasing their journey of recreating Hamlet inside the chaotic world of GTA Online during the pandemic.

The trailer itself showcases how hard it is to do anything inside GTA Online without getting shot, and the movie tracks the journey of their attempt. While the film is in no way an official GTA movie people are waiting for, it might just be the movie everyone needs.
