Team Spirit started with a lead in the opening match, but things turned around as the second half saw them struggling against their opponents. Things only got worse for Spirit in the following match, as the team saw a similar loss against G2.

The third match started off on a similar note, this time, Hunter stepped up with money and malbsMd in the first half. Despite the best efforts from Donk, Team Spirit was not able to secure the win, leading to a quick victory for G2. BLAST Premier World Finals was also a flawless run for the team without a single defeat.

G2 fans divided between celebration and heartbreak

On one side players are celebrating G2’s victory, on the other, the recent statement from the CEO of G2 Esports, Alban Dechelotte, has them worried about one of the star players Niko’s departure from the team. In a recent interview, Dechelotte talked about Niko’s rumoured move to Team Falcons.

Dechelotte did say their most recent signing of malbsMd was done keeping future-proofing in mind. “The fact that we signed Malbs in July when he's playing the same positions as NiKo, maybe it's a bit of an anticipation of what's to come, and maybe we're already working on who will replace Malbs in his anchor position, and he could move into the positions that NiKo will be leaving at the end of December,” he said.

Talking about the other prodigy, money, Dechelotte revealed that he is currently part of the plan. It is also unclear which team Niko will join, but fans are convinced that Team Falcons will be the one, especially with their interest in top Counter-Strike players.
