Following Hoxxi’s departure from G2 Esports, fans were wondering who will be the new IGL for the team. Many believed that NiKo would take on the role after the team played at IEM Dallas with Stewie2K as Hooxi’s replacement and NiKo acting as the IGL.
However, the suspense wasn’t there for long as G2 had now revealed Snax as their fifth man who will also act as the new IGL. The Polish Counter-Strike pro has been a long-running member of Virtus.pro from 2013 to 2018 alongside TaZ and pashaBiceps and won the 2014 ESL One Katowice Major.

He also went on to win multiple other top-tier tournaments with the team before parting ways in 2018. He further signed with many other teams but has not stuck with anyone yet. With CS2, he signed with GamerLegion as their IGL at the end of 2023.
Here is the new CS2 roster for G2 Esports
Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas (coach)
Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač
Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa
Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski
G2 fans have mixed reactions to the move
The signing of malbsMd had G2 fans excited and believed the team might finally be cooking something. However, with the reveal of Snax, many have voiced their disappointment, saying the team was supposed to get an upgrade over Hooxi.
While Snax has been a beloved player in the Counter-Strike community, fans expected a combination of firepower with their IGL. Furthermore, his addition may also cause changes in roles for other players, creating another issue to worry about.
Others believed this might work out for the team, after all, they already have decent firepower and all they need is an IGL that can make good use of it to bring the rounds in their favour. As for the results, fans will have to wait and watch.
