The latest Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 update was quite exciting, however, fans were quickly turning against the devs. This was after players noticed reduced XP to level up Battle Pass from Save The World. Addressing the issue, the support quickly responded and sometime later, a fix was deployed that made several adjustments to XP gain.
Shortly after the latest update, several complaints regarding issues with progression started to pop up. “We're aware of an issue where after a certain threshold is reached, Save The World players earn less XP than intended. We're working to resolve this now and will let you know when a fix is live,” the support responded.
Ahead of the update last month, Epic Games announced streamlining the XP system to make it easier for players to progress to different Battle Pass. However, the implement was a bit scuffed with XP tabs merged and giving much less XP.
Further investigation revealed that some other aspects of the game, including LEGO Fortnite also had a similar issue. Thankfully, the issue was resolved rather quickly, with the latest fix adding a higher daily bonus goal and Increased weekly XP across all game modes.

Fans asking for the old XP system
While the fix is up a running, a lot of people were spotted asking the devs to go back to the old XP system. Instead of having separate daily quests, the progression was merged and worked from playing any game mode. Players believe that this has resulted in them getting less amount of XP than regular progression.

“Before the changes, I'd play Fortnite for an hour or two every day cycling through game modes. Now I play one drop maybe two drops max in BR and get my dailies and there's nothing left to do,” one of the users said about the new progression. The less XP might also be caused by players progressing all three passes at the same time, however, if that is the case, this does not benefit those who only get a single pass.
