Fortnite announces ‘Ballistic’ a 5v5 tactical FPS game mode like Valorant

Fortnite has now announced a First Person experience, and it’s much bigger than fans imagined. Ballistic, the upcoming FPS game mode, features a 5v5 tactical gameplay that many people play and love. This new mode is set to land on December 11, and fans are quite excited about another game mode addition.

Previously, the first-person feature was teased back in October after Epic Games added this as an experimental feature in the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and creative mode. The gameplay loop is similar to other popular titles in the market, with visuals resembling Valorant and the gameplay focused on weapons and utilities similar to Counter Strike.

“In Ballistic, players are sorted into two teams at the start of the match: attackers and defenders. Attackers aim to plant a reality-tearing Rift Point Device at one of two sites on the map, while defenders do their best to thwart the device from being planted and detonated,” the official post wrote.

There are, however, a variety of weapons ranging from pistols, SMGs, Assault Rifles and Snipers along with various utilities like Smoke, Frag and Recon Grenade along with Flash Bang, Proximity Mine and more making an appearance from the Battle Royale mode.

The only limitations here are the map, with players only getting one ‘Skyline 10’ on release. However, more will follow in future updates. The ballistic game mode will also have ranked and unranked options, giving players another thing to grind.

Fortnite custom games are about to become much more fun

Official game mode aside, the new FPS feature will allow the community to create some great custom games. The latest update bringing the Ballistic game mode is also expected to bring all new custom animations to the UEFN and creative mode.

Players were already creating some incredible custom content with experimental features, and they will now have even more things to play around with.
