This is also the first time Fortnite has added an FPS game mode, which is fitting well. The improvements in the FPS mode also extends to a creative level and the Unreal Fortnite Editor, so players can also make use of this feature.

Fortnite Ballistic Gameplay

Being a tactical fps shooter, the gameplay is a lot different from Battle Royale mode. Rounds can be slower and with no respawn in the same round, early death will have players spectating. One team is left defending sites while the other team have to plant the ‘The Rift Point Device’.

However, just planting the device does not get the job done, players will either have to defend until the device explodes or defeat their opponents. The same goes for the defending team, as they have to either stop opponents from planting by elimination or defuse the device. The first team to reach seven rounds will be the victor.

Fans love the new Ballistic game mode

The social media is also in absolute chaos as players are loving the new game mode, with many calling it a potential rival for Counter Strike, Valorant and Call of Duty. That’s because it closely resembles all three of these games combine.

Ballistic’s gameplay feels like an innovative version of Counter Strike, as the gameplay also makes use of various grenades available. On the other hand, it looks like Valorant, but then again, Fortnite already had that shaded look. As for Call of Duty, the gun play feels familiar, with low recoil and crisp shots.

Pulling some of the best things from popular games, the new game mode does have a lot of potential. With the added bonus of already having a big community around Fortnite, Ballistic is skyrocketing in popularity. Epic Games is set to add more maps in the future.
