Bungie reveals Destiny 2 Episode Heresy Photograph: (Bungie)
The third episode following the conclusion of the Light and Dark saga ‘Destiny 2 Episode Heresy’ is right around the corner and Bungie recently gave players an overview of what to expect. Episode Heresy will take players back to ‘The Dreadnaught’, hive ship Throne World of the Taken King ‘Oryx’.
“The Dreadnaught has reawakened for the first time in almost a decade, spurring the Vanguard and Guardians across the system to take notice. We finally get to see what has become of the Dreadnaught years after Oryx was felled and its halls were left to corrode, without a Navigator,” Narrative Architect Nikko Stevens revealed.
Along with the new season, players are also getting a new dungeon ‘Sundered Doctrine’, a new aspect for each class that seems interesting, new game mode, and a rework for Trials of Osiris. Previously, players needed seven consecutive wins to reach ‘the lighthouse’ in Trials of Osiris, this has now changed to regular regular seven wins regardless of losses.
Destiny 2 Episode Heresy adds new rouge-lite seasonal activity
There wasn’t much to do in the Dreadnaught apart from the ‘King’s Fall’ raid and Crucible matches in Destiny 2. However, the latest episode is taking the seasonal activity is exploring the remains of the ship with a new twist. Roguelike games are quite popular for their uncertainty and random runs which Bungle implemented as a rouge-lite seasonal activity.
The new 3-player activity will send players on a randomized run with random boons. The addition of no health-regeneration, however, might start a new Destiny 2 controversy. To recover health, players have to depend on teammates and health pickups.

What is roguelike and rouge-lite?
Roguelike is a popular genre of video games where players encounter new challenges with each playthrough. Starting with board games and dungeon crawlers, the genre was adopted by many others and saw some changes introducing rouge-lite. As the name suggests, rouge-lite takes elements from roguelike but has a fixed outcome albeit through different paths.
