Latest Death Stranding 2 trailer brings release and pre-order dates (Photograph: Kojima Productions)
A new trailer for Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2 was recently revealed at the SXSW 2025 festival. The 10-minute-long trailer gives fans a closer look and picks up the gameplay, story with more variety in the environment, and massive boss battles. The game is set to release on June 26 for the PS5 and also features a $230 Collector’s Edition.
The game brings back Sam Bridges and Léa Seydoux and even more additions to its cast of popular Hollywood actors like Ellie Fanning, Troy Baker, and Luca Marinelli who resembles one of Hideo Kojima’s popular creations ‘Solid Snake’ from the Metal Gear series.

Death Stranding 2 is much larger in scope and scale
Compared to the previous game, there seems to be a lot more action as the game turns from a walking simulator in the first game to massive Kaiju battles. There’s also a lot more environmental variety as revealed across multiple shots in the trailer. Death Stranding also had a few different biomes but the overhaul here is on a completely different scale.
As for why the trailer is 10 minutes long, Kojima said, “I have incorporated various hints and puzzle pieces throughout. Please enjoy the time leading up to the release of the game by watching it many times and reflect and discuss it.”
