Taking advantage of the lack of a Nintendo Switch port for Black Myth Wukong, multiple games have started appearing on Nintendo's e-store. Riding on the game's popularity, shovelware titles are now trying to make a quick buck from unsuspecting customers using similar keywords from the original game. As one can be expected, the gameplay is not even remotely close.
Wukong Sun: Black Legend, which is currently available for pre-order and will be released on December 26, and Wukong's Child: Monkey King Myth, which was released a few months back on September 19, are two games currently available globally.
One looks like a cheap 2D side scroller game, while the other looks like a roguelike bullet-hell game. The only thing they have in common with Black Myth Wukong is some words in their title. Wukong Sun does use an image similar to that of Black Myth Wukong.

Not the first shovelware, certainly not the last
Black Myth Wukong was one of the most popular video game releases in 2024 and was also one of the contenders for Game of the Year. While it did not win the award, the game took home other categories and was quite popular among fans, especially Chinese with a Steam player count reaching over 2.4 million making it the second game in terms of concurrent players.
It’s no surprise that there will be some people trying to take advantage of its popularity to sell games that aren’t worth what they are asking. This happens with most games that reach new heights in popularity, with sometimes even big companies adopting something innovative.
As for why the official game isn’t on Nintendo Switch, Black Myth Wukong requires decent hardware and an eight-year handheld console isn’t actually ideal to run the game even with various compromises.
