As per recent reports, the Black Myth: Wukong fans are review bombing Baldur Gate’s 3 on Steam. This move likely is in relation to a speech given by Baldor Gate’s creator Swen Vincke at the Game Award 2024, before the award was given to Astro Bot.
It has been seen that in the recent past, the Black Myth: Wukong had received a lot of positive feedback from the audience as they were able to sell over twenty-million copies till date. The fans were quite certain with the performance and thought, Black Myth would be able to bag the Game of the Year award. Shortly, the fans were left disappointed as the award went to Astro Bot. Black Myth: Wukong was able to manage the title for the Best Action Game and Player’s Voice award.

'Didn't treat developers like numbers on the spreadsheet'
Surprisingly, it is seen that the Black Myth: Wukong players have been targeting Baldur Gate 3. The reason behind this back lash was the remarks made by the creator of Baldor Gate Swen Vincke, while delivering the Game of the year award. While addressing the crowd, Vincke said, the winner “didn’t have to meet any arbitrary sales target,” and “didn’t treat their developers like numbers on the spreadsheet.” This made the gamers extremely upset and by the end of the Game Awards, there were many negative reviews and comments that have popped up. Many accusations came up saying that Vincke indicated that sales are not important.
On the same note, the producer of Black Myth: Wukong, Feng Ji, recently commented saying that he was not able to understand the criterion of choosing the winner of the Game of the Year award. He expressed his sadness as he questioned the decision of the jury saying he could not, “figure out what the criteria was for the Game of the Year Award.” Feng Ji also said that he had prepared an acceptance speech two-years prior but, he was disappointed as he was not able to use the same.
