The recent leaks regarding Call of Duty making an appearance at the Esports World Cup have now been confirmed after an official announcement revealing two CoD tournaments featuring a combined prize pool of $2.8 million. Prior to the addition of CoD, the Esports World Cup featured 19 games with 21 events, with Mobile Legends Bang Bang featuring two events. Now we have 20 games with 22 events.

CoD will be the second game at the Esports World Cup to feature two tournaments. One will be for Warzone featuring 21 teams playing in trios and a prize pool of $1 million, the other will be for Modern Warfare 3 with 16 teams and $1.8 million in prize pool.

Call of Duty: Warzone event format

Matches for Warzone will take place across four days starting July 3. Teams will be divided into three groups in the seeding stage, where all teams will play four matches, which will determine their seeding for the group stages.

Based on the points, the team will once again be seeded into three groups, this time playing eight matches each. The top 14 teams from the group stage will move to the finals, with the winner taking home $200,000.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 event format

The Modern Warfare 3 event will also take place across four days, with the 16 competing teams divided into four groups of four in a double-elimination bracket. Matches will be played in best-of-five as usual, with the top two teams from each group advancing to playoffs.

Qualifying eight teams will compete together in a single elimination bracket, once again in best of five, with the grand finals as best of seven. The winner will be taking home $600,000.
