The anticipated Season 2 for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 launched less than 24 hours ago and seemingly failed to win back players. Season 2 promised a lot of changes including a better anti-cheat and fixes to a host of other issues in both Multiplayer and Warzone. Sadly, this isn’t the case as per the community.

Despite loads of content including new maps (including a Zombies map), game modes, and weapons, the average player count on Steam barely moved compared to the beginning of the month. While the Black Ops 6 and Warzone update was released on a weekday, the general complaints from people remain the same.

Warzone in particular seems to be getting the majority of the heat as cheaters remain active likely due to being free to play. With the addition of console-only lobbies, PC players are complaining about frequent matches with cheaters saying the latest Ricochet update changed nothing.
Cod players react to Black Ops 6 Season 2
Once again the community was left disappointed with the new update. While the new maps and game modes were termed as decent additions, the core issue is where the players faced a huge upset. Even the player count for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on Steam was higher a month before Season 2.
“Nothing has changed except they put in a worthless Ricochet Anti-Cheat banner as the opening screen. I did not have high hopes, but I had hope- so sad what this game has become,” one user said for the latest update. “I’ve been playing for 6 hours straight and the bugs are awful and there’s new ones. They didn’t fix the majority of the issues,” popular CoD content creator HunterTV wrote.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is available across multiple platforms and is also a part of Xbox Game Pass. These platforms may contribute to more players, however, as per Microsoft, the game also did well in the standalone release and those players do not seem to be returning.
PC players facing new bugs and crashes in Black Ops 6
Those who did log in for the latest Call o in have reported multiple new issues with the game including the inability to join friends, frequent crashes, and the game straight up refusing to launch. The cheating problem in Warzone remains the same despite a major kernel-level update to Ricochet anti-cheat.
