The opening day for BGMI Masters Series Season 3 opened up a bag of nostalgia, sparked old rivalries and saw comebacks from teams that were having a rough time. Day 1 concluded with Team 8Bit reign on top of the leaderboard for the entire time, although others did not get much of a chance to dethrone them.
Powerplay system introduced by Nodwin Gaming came as a huge boost in early fights for teams seeking double points and secure a better position. This new system doubles the amount of point a team get during the first circle in a trade-off for potentially slower late game.
8Bit along with WSB Gaming discovered the advantage early on and made a strong footing on the leaderboard after Game 1 with 8Bit securing the Chicken Dinner. The following match saw 8Bit activate once again going for risky early fights and coming out with 24 points even after getting eliminated in 10th spot. Carnival Gaming closed the day by securing the second game.

Amidst all the chaos, Revenant Esports also managed to land on second spot of leaderboard by using the regular tactic of playing it safe with the new roster. The team refrained from going for early fights and managed to build up their score by finishing in the top five in both matches with decent amount of finishers.
Vasista Esports also reached the top five spots and while the team was not able to accumulate much finisher points, the team secured second spot in both games. It remains to be seen if Vasista managed to keep the streak alive on the second day.
