The BGMI Master Series (BGMS) is just around the corner and is all set to be the next big thing following Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024. However, this is not the first event of BGMS, in-fact it is one of the largest and most popular BGMI events that features some of the biggest prize pools and previously concluded two seasons.

BGMS was started back in 2022 by NODWIN Gaming alongside Star Sports, who was also the streaming partner for the event. The event came as one of the largest unofficial BGMI events that rivalled the official events like BGIS and BMPS.

BGMS Season 1 and 2 winners

  • Season 1

The first iteration of BGMS was held back in the summer of 2022 and featured a massive prize pool of Rs 1.5 crore. Season 1 was invite-only and featured 24 of the best BGMI teams across the country, including the likes of Team SouL, GodLike Esports, TeamXspark, Revenant Esports, TSM, 8Bit and many more.

BGMS Season 1 also included weekly MVP and prizes that further allowed teams to perform their best at all times in order to secure some additional prizes. The end of the Grand Finals saw Global Esports lift the championship trophy and become the first winners of the BGMS.

With a strong response from BGMI fans across the country, NODWIN gaming brought the second season for BGMS the following year in August. This time, the stakes were much higher with a prize pool of $2.1 crore and there were also some changes to the format.

  • Season 2

The second iteration ditches the weekly prizes for the Bounty system and this time, fans saw some underdog challengers in the mix. This was one of the criticisms for the first season not giving new teams a chance. This time out of the 24 teams competing, 10 qualified through qualifier events.

Gladiators Esports ultimately took home the victory for BGMS Season 2 after a month-long event. However, with the event hosting open qualifiers, the grand finals also saw a few underdog teams like Lucknow Giants and WSB Gaming make it into the grand finals.
