Baldur’s Gate 3 still in top 20 of most fan fiction ships of 2024

One of the most popular fan fiction archives just shared what people have been cooking up the entire 2024. This year, gamers were once again quite obsessed with Baldur's Gate 3. After all, this is as diverse as a game can get. While there are already various romance options in the game, people are particularly obsessed with Astarion.

The ship between Tav, a custom character in the game, and Astarion has once again maintained its spot in the top 20. The couple was knocked down a few spots in the 2024 list, thanks to Hazbin Hotel and Arcane: League of Legends. Hazbin Hotel saw three new entries, while Arcane saw a new ship along with the re-entry of Vatlyin and Vi.

However, it’s impressive to see Astarion’s popularity more than a year after the game’s release. This was likely thanks to Neil Newbon’s acting blowing everyone’s mind in Baldur’s Gate 3, which secured him Best Performance at the Game Awards 2023.

Apart from Arcane and Baldur’s Gate, a few more game characters were making an appearance from Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Persona 5, and Call of Duty in the top 100 fan fiction ships of 2024. Here’s the complete list:

This year is also going to be very interesting considering gamers are getting a lot of incredible releases, including GTA 6. While there are speculations that the game may get delayed to 2026, going by the current schedule, Lucia and Jason are also likely to make it onto the list.
