The new RX 9000 series GPUs featuring AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture will be launching sometime in March. This comes from the latest announcement from the VP & GM of Ryzen CPU and Radeon graphics, ‘David McAfee’, who revealed that the cards will be available to purchase globally in March. The post felt like a personal update so more details are expected to be revealed soon.
“Radeon 9000 series hardware and software are looking great and we are planning to have a wide assortment of cards available globally. Can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on the cards when they go on sale in March!” McAfee wrote in his X (Twitter) post.
The first GPUs to drop in the series are AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 which were briefly teased during the CES 2025. However, fans were quite upset with AMD deciding not to do a full reveal and raised a lot of rumours including the performance and last-minute cancellation.
In a follow-up post, AMD addressed the issue saying the cards were not planned to be revealed during CES but will have their own separate unveil program. As of now, there aren’t any dates locked in for the RX 9000 series GPU announcement.

AMD RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 launch price
Ahead of the launch, leaks suggest that the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 will be priced at $599 and $499. If true, fans may not be very happy with the pricing as they will already have an option for the RTX 5070 priced at $549 which will reportedly provide RTX 4090 performance with all the gimmicks active like DLSS 4 and Frame Generation.
Nivida is launching its RTX 50 series cards in late January and February and AMD aiming for a March release leaves them with no competition. Although, rumours claim that AMD GPUs will be in line with RTX 4070 Ti or RTX 4080.
This is because in terms of tech like upscaling and frame generation, AMD graphics cards have been a step behind. It is natural for people to assume the same for the upcoming RX 9070 XT and RX 9070.
