The upcoming Esports World Cup is set to feature a host of events, however, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid-Season Cup is the first event in the series and will commence on July 3 featuring a prize pool of $3 million and will see 16 teams competing.
Although the real official event matches will commence on July 3, there is still one team missing from the group stage line-up. The final team will enter through the Wildcard event that will take place starting June 28. The winner will secure the final spot in the group stages.
The wildcard is an innovative approach to make the matches interesting for the competing teams and viewers. As for the teams in group stages, the Mid-Season event will also give them a chance to secure a chunk of EWC Club Points, apart from the winning prize of $1 million
