Activision has now admitted to using generative AI inside multiple Call of Duty games, like the most recent Black Ops 6 and Warzone. This comes months after people were complaining about the same thing after spotting various irregularities in promotional images like the six-fingered zombie and other in-game items across multiple games.

Spotted by CharlieIntel on X, the Steam page for Call of Duty has now added another short section revealing the game uses AI-generated content. This section was added after Valve recently changed its policy regarding the use of AI on Steam, which now requires all games using AI content to provide full disclosure.

“The developers describe how their game uses AI-generated content like this: Our team uses generative AI tools to help develop some in-game assets,” the AI disclosure section reads. People were already making these claims and weren’t surprised by this revelation.

‘Use AI to generate better anti-cheat’ - Fans react to AI in Call of Duty

Now that Activision has stated that they use AI-generated content inside Call of Duty, people have a lot more to say. Some started trolling while others were wondering what else the company used AI for? Let’s check out how people react.

Generative AI stirs another Call of Duty controversy

There is now an ongoing argument regarding the use of generative AI. Activision in recent years has laid off thousands of employees. Regardless of the reason, it is presumed that AI is among one of the leading factors. Many players are debating why Activision is charging people the same price in Black Ops 6 and Warzone cosmetics if there are assets with AI-generated content.

AI has been a controversial topic for a long time; even Microsoft recently unveiled Muse AI, which the company claims will be able to let gamers play old games, effectively eliminating the issue of game preservation. However, people aren’t completely sold on the idea.
