Yashasvi Jaiswal played a fine knock in the second innings of the Oval Test against England. In challenging conditions to bat, Jasiwal scored his sixth Test ton, the second of the series. England's poor fielding meant India continued to pile on their misery to have an upper hand in the match.
The Southpaw played shots all over the park and did not target a particular region, which made the life of the English players difficult. While Jaiswal did play his trademark lofted shot over the head of the wicketkeeper, he did not intentionally play it. Likewise, he played some fine cut shots and drove the ball well through the covers and extra covers.

Jaiswal also played well in the leg-side region. The English bowlers, in the absence of Chris Woakes, seemed overworked and offered some looseners, which did not help their case. The Indian batters were happy to bat as long as possible, as they tried to tire the bowlers out. After having an aggressive start, Jaiswal slowed down and ensured to stay long in the middle.
England's poor fielding helps India in the Oval Test
The poor fielding from the English slip cordon and even from those outside of it did not help their cause. There were at least five dropped catches and other tough chances that went down. Jaiswal himself was put down twice in the match, both of which were when he had not even scored a fifty.

The English fielders even dropped Sai Sudharsan, Akash Deep, and Karun Nair. While Sudharsan and Nair did not have a huge impact on the innings, Deep played the best knock of his career and scored 66(94), which helped Jaiswal at the other end to settle in the middle.
