India's WTC 2025-27 cycle started with the tour of England from the second half of June to the first week of August in 2025. The visiting side ended the series on a high with a result of 2-2, which was good, considering the transition period and a lot of changes in the team. The Indian team will not play a Test match for a couple of more months.

In October 2025, India will face the challenge of the West Indies in a series of two matches at home. A month later, they will face the challenge of the defending WTC Mace holders, South Africa, at home, which will mark the temporary halt of their Test leg.
