Mohammed Siraj's brother thanked Virat Kohli for backing the right-arm pacer in his tough times. Siraj's brother claimed Virat was aware of the Indian pacer's caliber and stood by him. The 31-year-old played a key role in India's thrilling win against England at The Oval in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

Siraj's brother appeared in an interview with the Times of India, where he claimed that the pace bowler gets inspired by Virat. He added that the veteran stood by his brother's side after a terrible 2018 season and was aware of the qualities the pacer possessed. Siraj's brother credited Kohli for ensuring a smooth grooming in RCB and the Indian team.

"Siraj takes inspiration from Virat Kohli. Virat bhaiya stood by him and supported him after a terrible 2018 season. He knew the qualities of Siraj and backed him in both the RCB and the Indian team. All credit goes to Virat Bhaiya," said Siraj's brother in an interview with the Times of India.

Mohammed Siraj's lion-hearted performance in the Oval Test against England

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj stepped up for India at the Oval and helped his side win the thrilling Test by 6 runs. In the first innings, the right-arm pacer bowled 16.2 overs, conceded 86 runs, and claimed 4 wickets, including a maiden. He dismissed the likes of Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Jacob Bethell.

In the second innings, Siraj was even better, as he had to bowl a longer spell and was economical. In his 30.1 overs, Siraj conceded 104 runs and claimed 5 wickets, including 6 maiden overs. The star pacer got rid of Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, and Gus Atkinson to win the match for India.
