Allan Border praised Mohammed Siraj for his lion-hearted performance in both innings, which won India the match. The right-arm pacer claimed 4 and 5 wickets in the two innings respectively at the Oval against England. The legendary cricketer claimed 2-2 is a fair indication of how the two teams played in the series.
In an interview with Fox Cricket, Border claimed that the last Test of the series between India and England was a ripper due to the ebbs and flows. He felt England had an upper hand at one stage in the run chase when Harry Brook and Joe Root got going, and even after their dismissals, when a couple of boundaries were struck by Jamie Overton.
"Well, the final game, you know, was an absolute ripper. Had a bit of everything, just got that tension. I was lucky enough to be up watching it last night. It just felt that England were going to sort of cruise to a victory in the first couple of overs with boundaries, and the target score came down," said Border in the interview.

He later claimed Siraj bowled an exceptional spell, and the last wicket of the series was huge. Border felt India did not deserve to lose the series and added that the eventual result, 2-2, was a fair indication of how the two teams played in the series.

"Mohammed Siraj, you know, is a real goer, and that final wicket was huge. It was a deserved victory, I think overall. They didn't deserve to lose the series. 2-2, I think, is a fair indication of how the crew was played over the last couple of months," Border added in his statement.
