A journey from UP T20 League to IPL’s big stage

The Lucknow-born Zeeshan Ansari made his First-Class debut for Uttar Pradesh six years back in the Ranji Trophy 2017 before making his T20 debut for UP in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019. Besides that, he was also a part of India’s U-19 side, which had a few notable stars in it, including the likes of Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, and Sarfaraz Khan.

However, it took a long time for Zeeshan Ansari to make an impact at the bigger level; he played a vital role with the ball in the UP T20 League 2024 while playing for Meerut Mavericks. His brilliant bowling performances played a vital role in Meerut’s title-winning run throughout the tournament.

He claimed a total of 16 wickets in 10 innings, including the best performance of 3 wickets at just 17 runs in a game. He ended up as the leading wicket-taker for the Meerut Mavericks in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League 2024 to help his side lift the title.
