Out of favor Indian wicketkeeper and batter Ishan Kishan scored 25-ball fifty on his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals. The 26-year-old, playing his first Indian Premier League (IPL) game of the season, was at his aggressive best with the bat. Kishan came out at number three for SRH after the fall of Abhishek Sharma for 24 runs.

Jofra Archer, who had conceded 35 runs from his first two overs, was given the ball by Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Riyan Parag to bowl the 13th over. The first ball of the over saw Kishan get a top edge that flew over Dhruv Jurel’s head for a six. On the second ball of the over, Kishan hit his second successive six to reach his half-century.
Once he reached the mark, the 26-year-old was seen blowing a flying kiss. The cameras panned to SRH owner Kavya Maran, who was enjoying the proceedings in the middle. Hyderabad had managed to reach 200 for the loss of two wickets inside the 15th over. It is to be noted that SRH had twice broken the record for the highest team total in IPL history last season.
Riyan Parag’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss backfired as the hosts raced to 94 for one after six overs. Abhishek Sharma scored 24 off just 11 balls before he was out to Maheesh Theekshana in the first ball of the fourth over. Sharma had hit five fours in his knock and added 45 runs for the opening wicket with Travis Head to put the RR bowlers under pressure.
Travis Head continued to play attacking shots as he smashed Jofra Archer for a 105-meter six. The left-handed batter scored 67 runs off just 31 balls with eight boundaries and three sixes before falling to Tushar Deshpande in the third ball of the tenth over. Deshpande bowled a full ball, which induced a mistimed drive as Shimron Hetmyer took an easy catch.
Ishan Kishan, who was part of the Mumbai Indians in the previous few seasons, was picked by SRH in the IPL 2025 auctions. Head and Kishan added 85 runs for the second wicket in just 38 balls. Nitish Kumar Reddy played an enterprising knock as he scored 15-ball 30 with four boundaries and a six. Theekshana ended the third wicket stand worth 72 off 29 balls when Reddy was caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal.
