Amid facing severe backlash for his poor batting form, Tim David managed to wow fans with a splendid fielding effort in the first T20I against England. He grabbed a stunning catch by running backwards to dismiss Jordan Cox in Australia's 28-run win at Southampton on Wednesday, September 11.
Chasing a competitive target of 180 runs, England suffered an early setback when they lost opener Will Jacks for six runs in the second over. To keep them out of trouble, Phil Salt and Cox tried to form a partnership with some aggressive shots. They raced to 40 in the fifth over, but Xavier Bartlett gave another breakthrough, with help from David.

Bartlett bowled a length slower delivery off the third ball of the over and Cox went for a wild slog. He mistimed it, but the ball seemed to land in a safe spot. However, David did not hesitate to give it a try. He ran all the way from mid-on to deep mid-wicket, kept his eyes on the ball, then dived full length and took it with both hands.
