Team India has touched down in Barbados where they will take on South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup. The two unbeaten teams in the tournament so far are set to clash with each other in a mouth-watering contest at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on Saturday, June 29.

Rohit Sharma and Co. stormed into the final after registering a comprehensive 68-run win over defending champions England. On the other hand, South Africa defeated Afghanistan by nine wickets to make their maiden appearance in a World Cup final. India are eyeing their second title in the shorter format of the game.

In a video shared by ANI News on their X handle, several Indian players were seen making their exit from the airport to their team bus. Along with players like Hardik Pandya Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, head coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI president Roger Binny were also spotted in the video.

History is certain as both ‘chokers’ come face-to-face

Both India and South Africa have a history of choking in big games. While the Proteas have never made it past the semi-finals, the Men in Blue have never won an ICC trophy since 2013 despite appearing in the finals several times. However, the upcoming match will ensure that one of the teams break the jinx.

India will be confident after their impressive win over England. Rohit Sharma continued to lead the team from the front with back-to-back half-centuries. Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel also made valuable contributions with the bat. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s lean patch will be a concern for the management.

The batting stalwart has not made any significant contribution to the team so far and will be aiming to break the deadlock in the all-important final. The scintillating form of Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav with the ball is a great sign for them.
