Two weeks before the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar series in Perth, Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant was seen at the Delhi airport as he was about to depart. After posing for a picture with a fan and touching his mother's feet to ask for blessings, Pant went through the exit gate.

The fate of Team India in the World Test Championship (WTC) Standings would be decided by their trip to Australia for a pivotal Border-Gavaskar Series. After losing the home Test series to New Zealand, India now needs to win four of its next five games to advance to the WTC 2025 finals.

Additionally, if India does not make it to the WTC finals, the BCCI will have to make some serious adjustments to the Test structure following the Australia series as a result of the humiliation at home. Before the huge mission, the team had a few days off, so wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant returned home to Delhi to spend time with his mother.

The Indian squad gets called up to depart Mumbai with two weeks to go before the first Test in Perth. Thus, while departing for Mumbai, Pant was apprehended at the Delhi airport. Rishabh Pant touched her feet to ask for blessings before his mother left with him to say goodbye.

Rishabh Pant rose to the top 10 of the ICC Test batter rankings.

To prevent injuries at the last minute, India's intra-squad practice match versus India A has been cancelled. The team will therefore need to use net sessions to adjust to Australian conditions. As a result of his tenacious fifties in the New Zealand series, Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant rose to the top 10 of the ICC Test batter rankings.

Pant has moved up to sixth place, and Daryl Mitchell is also improving at number seven. Virat Kohli, meanwhile, has dropped out of the top 20 list for the first time in ten years after scoring just 93 runs in six innings against the Black Caps.
