The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s Secretary, Jay Shah, was the first person to promise that under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, India would lift the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 and hoist the Indian flag in Barbados. Fortunately, all the events came true on June 29th. This time, Jay Shah has come up with another bold statement about the upcoming Champions Trophy and WTC 2025.

The ANI released a video on social media where Jay Shah confirmed Rohit Sharma as India's captain in the upcoming tournaments and said, "I am confident that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, we will win the CT & WTC."

India currently has 6 ICC trophies under their name, and their next target will be the WTC Finals 2025. While Jay Shah is confident about the team and the skipper, it will be a dream for all cricket fans if this becomes true. Moreover, players will concentrate on the upcoming bilateral series since there's a lot of time for the tournaments.

Zimbabwe stuns India in 1st T20I

India's young team has been to Zimbabwe to play a 5-match T20I series from July 6 to 14 and lost the 1st T20I against Zimbabwe by 14 runs. In an unfortunate turn of events, India's batting lineup collapsed, and they failed to chase 115 runs in the second innings.

Moreover, Zimbabwe's bowlers and fielders were right on point during the entire match, which was interesting for the viewers. Even though their batting failed, they made sure the bowling department was handled well. They will face India in the 2nd T20I on July 7 and will hope to repeat the results.
