Australia finally became the first team to get past the 200 mark in the ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. With a team effort, the Aussies scored 201 runs while batting first against England in the marquee event. Meanwhile, England's batters also got off to a good start with Phil Salt scoring 37 runs off 23 balls and Jos Buttler scoring 42 runs off 28 balls.
However, the most interesting part of the match was when Phil Salt hit a huge 106-meter six off Mitchell Starc in the third over of the match. Starc was stunned after watching the ball sailing towards the stands. It was a good ball, but Salt smashed it for a six. His confidence rose after that shot, and he hit four boundaries and two sixes in his short innings.
Australian bowlers are doing a great job of taking wickets at regular intervals. They might clinch victory over the English team if they continue to bowl well. While the openers gave a great start to the innings, the rest of the team couldn't continue the moment and hence, kept throwing away their wickets.
'We have got a good total' - David Warner's confidence in team's score
David Warner's batting performance was extremely good in the match against England, scoring 39 runs off 16 balls, including two boundaries and four sixes. His story cameo was quite helpful for the team, as they scored 201 runs. During the innings break, Warner talked about the score being enough for Australia to win the match.

"We know at the other end it was going to get challenging, but look they got two out-and-out quicks, excellent skills, so had to put them under pressure. When Jofra bowled an off-cutter it jumped but it was when the ball was new, later on, a few kept low, and we got a good total.
