With an incredible game against Oman, Australia started their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign with a win. However, their star bowler Mitchell Starc left the field early without completing his over while bowling against Oman. In the 15th over, which was Starc's last over of the game, he left the field due to a cramp. After the match, the skipper updated on his injury.

"Starcy was just a cramp so didn't want to take a chance. When Starcy says I am okay to go off you let him go off. We are looking forward to playing England. Different conditions here," said Mitchell Marsh at the post-match presentation.

Australia's performance against Oman was extraordinary as they pulled off a great show in all the departments. The bowling was equally good as the batting. Moreover, Oman fell short of 39 runs, but they did a pretty good job restricting the Aussies to 164 runs. Glenn Maxwell failed to impress the crowd as he was out on a duck. However, all other batters played extremely well.

'It's not going to be the 200 types in this tournament' - Mitchell Marsh on pitches in World Cup 2024

Like every other player, Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh also talked about the pitches in this year's World Cup 2024. As per him, fans won't get to see a high-scoring match in the ninth edition of the World Cup, considering the kind of pitches there. The pitches favour the bowlers much more than the batters and hence, scoring a lot of runs would be difficult.

"It's not going to be the 200 types in this tournament. We are kind of going to the old T20 style here in this tournament. (On Stoinis) Took his time and showed his experience. We are looking forward to playing England. Different conditions here. Oman v Australia was a tight one, great for the game of cricket," said Mitchell Starc at the post-match presentation.
