All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy may not be effective with bat and bowl in the ongoing Duleep Trophy match, but his fielding prowess has indeed boosted India B's chances of victory. His incredible catch sent India A opener Mayank Agarwal packing before he could do any damage.

Chasing a target of 275 on the final day in Bengaluru on Sunday, India A were looking for a solid start. However, their hopes were dashed by the combined efforts of Yash Dayal and Nitish Reddy. Experienced India batter Agarwal nicked a short-of-length delivery from the left-arm pacer, which darted between the second slip and the third slip.

Nitish Reddy, who was stationed at the second slip position, noticed the trajectory of the ball and dived towards his right to grab it. Although the catch bobbled away, he managed to keep it in his hands to give his team an early lead in the second innings.

After Agarwal’s dismissal, Riyan Parag and Shubman Gill tried to form a decent partnership. The duo combined to take India A’s score past 50 before Dayal grabbed his second wicket in the form of Parag’s keeper catch.

Later Navdeep Saini also joined the fun to dismiss captain Gill for 21 off 31 balls. The very next over, Dayal removed Dhruv Jurel for a duck and completed his three-fer in the morning session. Just after lunch, Mukesh Kumar struck to get rid of Tanush Kotian and put his team well ahead in the game.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, India B scored 321 in the first innings on the back of Musheer Khan's record-breaking century. In reply, India A could only score 231 runs. India B added 184 more runs to their tally, thanks to Rishabh Pant’s aggressive knock (61 off 47) and Sarfaraz Khan’s 46 off 36.
