Ravindra recently participated in a quick net practice, but Stead reminded everyone that his recuperation is still a gradual and careful process.

In a statement released on the BlackCaps' social media page before their February 14 Tri-Series final matchup with Pakistan, Stead gave a new update on Ravindra's health. He stated that while the young all-rounder continues to experience headaches, they are getting better over time. As the Champions Trophy draws near, the team management is keeping a careful eye on his development. On February 19, New Zealand will play co-hosts Pakistan in the tournament's first match.

"Rachin got that nasty blow in Lahore to the forehead. The pleasing thing is he's progressing well. So, we are following HIA protocols at the moment. He's had a headache for a few days, but that's subsiding, which is really good news. He hit a few balls tonight for the first time, which is good. But there's still a few more steps for him to go through before he will be considered fit for play," Stead said.

Lockie Ferguson is back in training after his hamstring injury

During the 38th over of Pakistan's innings, Rachin Ravindra injured himself. Standing at deep square leg, he misjudged a sweep shot from Khushdil Shah as the ball directly got hit on the face. It had a big impact as blood gushed out and he was taken for immediate treatment. The team physio wrapped his face with a towel to try and control the bleeding. Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, not just Ravichandra, but Lockie Ferguson has also given New Zealand an injury scare.
