Pakistan is all excited to host the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 which will start on February 19. Speaking about the tournament, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed adviced the players to play their natural game and play with a good intensity against all the teams. Pakistan is doing well in the ongoing Tri-Series and have headed to the finals.
"Whenever we meet, it is a special occasion and there is so much hype and pressure around it. But as players, you need to stay calm, try and block that noise out, and just play with the same intensity as you would play Australia or any other team. The captain, Mohammad Rizwan, is also a wicketkeeper-batter, which worked pretty well for me back in 2017," said Sarfaraz Ahmed.
The hosts are the defending champions and with a new and experienced captain, they'll surely hope to defend their title. Mohammad Rizwan looks to be in great form and the way he's playing in the middle order, the batting line up looks strong and ready for the tournament. Apart from him, the bowlers are doing wonders as well.
He is a different Babar: Sarfaraz Ahmed
Sarfaraz Ahmed praised Babar Azam for his excellent batting in the previous games. As per Ahmed, Babar has evolved as a player and will be extremely helpful in the upcoming tournament.
"Pakistan have a really good chance of defending that title and I think they have a strong team. Some of the boys from 2017 are still there and we’re talking about some of the best – especially Babar Azam. He is a different Babar to the one that played in 2017, a more mature player and a dominant player in the game. His batting will be so important for Pakistan and so will Fakhar Zaman’s," added Ahmed.
