Mumbai Indians have endured a tough start to the IPL 2024 season on and off the field. The decision to change the captaincy last year did not sit down well with the fans. Rohit Sharma was removed as the skipper and replaced by Hardik Pandya. This was followed by fans taking to Social media to voice their anger and displeasure.

One fan has become famous as he has ripped the Mumbai Indians team management and Hardik Pandya. The fan in question could be heard saying that Hardik Pandya’s return to MI was motivated by money.

The fan also took a jibe at Pandya’s injury records which has seen the 30-year-old miss a few games for India. Once the video went viral the fans couldn’t help but agree with the views made by the fan.

Massive outpouring of support for Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has gained a lot of support from the fans after the entire captaincy Saga with the Mumbai Indians came to light. In the video the fan who showed his displeasure with the team management was seen backing Rohit Sharma.

During the course of the video, the man questioned Mark Boucher’s claim of getting the team ready for the future. In yet another sarcastic taunt, the person speaking to the media could be seen thanking Romario Shepherd for his final over exploits.

The West Indian batter hit Anrich Nortje for 32 runs in the final over with four sixes and two fours. This helped MI win their first game of the season by beating Delhi Capitals by 32 runs. Mumbai Indians had scored 234 runs after batting first and won the game thanks to Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee.

Hardik Pandya and his team now face off against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday. RCB are yet another team to endure a poor season so far with just one win from their 5 matches so far.

The men in blue and gold began the season with a close loss to Gujarat Titans by six runs. This was followed by conceding 277 runs against SRH in what is the highest team total in IPL history. Mumbai Indians then lost to Rajasthan Royals as their batting collapsed thanks to Trent Boult picking three early wickets.

After playing against RCB on Thursday, the next game for MI will be against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Ruturaj Gaikwad and his side ended the unbeaten start for KKR to win their third game of the season in front of their home side on Monday.
